The idea of Winterfell was born just a couple days after the first Badon Hill event. After returning, Hallbjorn Eyvindurson (then known as Romiro of Narnia), was wishing for more people to practice with, without having to drive all the way to Tartarus Invictus. After speaking briefly with some members of TI, he began putting together ideas, contacts and the necessary documents. With lots of support from the neighboring chapter, the paperwork was sent in, and Winterfell was in the works.
Winterfell became a reality on December 3rd, 2006. We held our first event at Genesee Valley Park, and while we had a small turnout, we had representitives from quite a few units, and even a few different chapters.
In September of 2007 Winterfell hosted its first truly successful event. With almost 30 people signed in, from various units and chapters, a day of fighting at Genessee Valley Park ensued. Again, support from Tartarus Invictus made this event possible.
In February of 2008, Janwin of Anvard and Hallbjorn of Winterfell began discussing the future of Winterfell and things began to pick up. At Ragnarok 23 (2008) Janwin unofficially replaced Taria Bloodhound as the co-signer of Winterfell. (There were 3 Winterfallians present at Ragnarok 23.)
